Coronavirus Update

Due to the annoucment today (23/06/2020) that Beauty Salons can’t re-open on 4th July, all appointment bookings are temporarily closed.  Once we know a re-opening date, we will open the diary

We have always ensured our Hygeine and Safety standards are exceptional and when we re-open we will continue to do as we always have in these areas. However, with Coronavirus, and our potential re-opening on 7th July, we will be putting even more standards in place.

The ones below are what we are already intending to do, but we will also be following any guidelines set out by the government for our industry, as well as any from beauty industry bodies, nearer the time.

This is work in progress, not a definitive list and we very much welcome your thoughts and ideas – just email anna@tranquilbeauty.co.uk

Safety in the salon
  • We will have a clear panel along the manicure desk with space at the bottom for hands and UV lamps, and the same at the reception desk. These will cost us approximately £400
  • We always had turn around time between appointments, but will be extending this further adding 15 minutes either side of an appointment so we can disinfect the treatment areas, door handles, screens and the payment machine. However, this will mean a reduced number of appointments per day to allow for this
  • We are looking at disposable towels for all treatments, which includes on the couches to minimise clothing touching the dressing towels
  • In the advice that that is coming from industry bodies, we will also be looking to purchase an autoclave machine which sterilizes instruments in UV light in 7 minutes, for all our tools. These are approximately £1,200
  • Payment will be by card only – contact-less where possible. We will no longer be accepting cash
  • The payment machine will be sanitised after every transaction
Client safety
  • We will be asking you to wait in your car until we invite you in, to reduce client to client contact and maintain social distancing
  • Only the person having the treatment will be allowed into the salon
  • You will be asked to wash your hands as soon as you come in and before you leave (as we will also be doing)
  • Please wear a mask and gloves when you come into the salon. If you do not have these you will need to buy them from us (at cost price)
  • We will still provide drinks, but please bring your own clean mug/travel cup etc, or a disposable cup
Therapist safety
  • We will be wearing full face shields at all times, unless it becomes impractical and then we will use face masks and glasses
  • We will be wearing new gloves for every client and for every treatment, and this may involve 2 pairs, for example a pedicure followed by a facial
  • Anna is looking into thermometers to take therapist and client temperatures every day/visit
